a tad stressed

So school is finally in full swing and I'm not going to lie, things are getting a little crazy. (Crazy busy, that is) Even though I'm in class for a mere 3 or 4 hours a day, the hours reading and doing homework outside of class add up to like 8. So finding "me" time is a challenge. Right now I'm working on a full-proof plan for creating an hour of "me" time a day--it is a work in progress, but I'll let you know when I succeed.
On a different note, yesterday afternoon I did, indeed, find time for "me" time. I used it for a run around campus. While running I began to work on my "full-proof plan," but instead my mind wandered to all the tasks I still had left to accomplish before the day was done, raising my stress levels. Just before I was mentally about to explode because of all the stress, I looked up into the sky. And in the sky was a beautiful, and quite vivid rainbow. No lie. The timing was impeccable, and it was just what I needed. A sign that things were going to be fine, and I should stop stressing out.
So aside from school, my dorm room is causing me a bit of stress...
Basically I got sick the first week of school. A cough. So I roughed it out a few days, but then the cough got so annoying and ailing that I caved and bought some medicine. My symptoms got better and things were looking up, so I stopped taking the medicine. But the cough persisted. Things that ran through my mind:
1. is this allergies? Is this cough because of the "ragweed" and pollen in the air?
-but I've never had allergies, so why is this happening now?
2. Is there a possible mold infestation in my dorm's air vent? Is this cough linked to the fact that I'm living in this old building?
3. What do I do to stop coughing?! I'm sure I wake my roommate up at night coughing, and I'm certain she's not happy about it. I'M not happy about it because I want my sleep, and I am absolutely not sure what to do about it.
AHHHHHHHHHHH

  1. Thanks so much for sharing your thought processes as you were jogging. I appreciate your openness, and I can totally empathize with feeling stressed and overwhelmed. It is extremely important to build self-care strategies into your life, so great job!

As for the cough, a lot of people have that experience with allergies here. One of my tricks that I use at home with myself and the kiddos is that I buy local honey from the farmer's market. We'll add it to foods or simply eat a spoonful of it. It sometimes helps with immunity to different pollens, etc. in your local area.
