Wow. Today was truly embarrassing. So growing up I unfortunately never really watched the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. My parents didn't allow me to watch much television, but when I got the chance I didn't watch the Ninja Turtles-sorry. So on the second day of my Intro to Fine Arts class my teacher starts by telling us how he never thought he would be teaching about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and I was slightly confused. Then he went on and mentioned Leonardo and Michelangelo, which I knew where famous artists and famous ninja turtles. Although I knew that, I never seemed to make the connection between the two when I was younger. Then he continued on about Donatello and Rafael. I have never heard of these two when learning about artists and architects in my past education, nor did the other kids talk about these ninja turtles. Therefore, I never made the full connection between famous Renaissance artists and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Today In my University Seminar class I said how my teacher told us about the connection between the two-except everyone else thought I was kidding. Apparently everyone else watched it growing up and made the connection in the third grade...I at least made my teacher cry from laughing which I have never succeeded in doing before, so that was an accomplishment I guess you could say. Well I'd have to say this was the most embarrassing thing that's happened to me since I've been at college.
My advice for you is to remember to think before you speak, something I tend to forget to do.
I'm sorry that I laughed so hard! It really caught me off guard. I actually felt like we all sort of connected over it, and it was like a moment of growth for our class. And you should definitely take delight in making me cry...that very rarely ever happens! I'm still tickled by the whole exchange!
ReplyDeleteIt's okay! I was glad everyone had a good laugh!
