I think I'm going to title all my bog posts with a lyric that describes my post at that point in time... and even though during this particular song in Grease, Sandy and Danny are singing about their summer romance together to their friends, I am definitely not in love with anybody. I am more in love with all the things that college has brought to my life; Strutters, new best friends and many new memories that I am so thankful for. But this specific post is all about my love for dance, and Strutters.
This weekend was one of my favorite weekends at Texas State so far because I got to dance for two nights in a row, Meet the Strutters on Friday and our first performance game on Saturday. The feeling that I get when I'm dancing is almost indescribable. I feel unstoppable, and like I'm in my element; that I'm doing what I'm supposed to do for the rest of my life. Even though I won't be able to haha.
Meet the Strutters was so much fun because it was an informal environment so I was able to get to see all the people that came to support me, like my mom, my sister, my friend Kentucky (not his real name, but the story behind the nickname is to long to tell), even a guy who I just happened to have lunch with one day showed up to support me. My first real performance as a Strutter at Saturday's game is something that I will never forget. The cheering of the crowd when they announced that the Strutters were about to perform, the reactions from the audience when we were strutting on the field, dancing, kicking and even when we finished dancing was absolutely incredible, and I don't know if I'm ever going to get used to it, in a good way of course.
I honestly love Strutters with all my heart and all the people I have met through it, and I can't wait for all the multiple more memories that I will get as the years continue.
